Never stop reinventing yourself
Maybe reinventing is the wrong word
What I mean is
Always be curious about yourself
And never stop learning
If you’ve been here a while, you know I do as I say
I am embodied in my teachings
And so for the past year, I have been emersed in studying
Studying the human Body on a deeper level than before
And experiencing magic
Contemplating my role, and questioning at time, my purpose to fulfil
Throughout all this, I’ve continued to be guided by Universe
Fully trusting in the sensations
Even when I cannot understand them cognitively
And INTEGRATING
(You know how much I love integration)
And throughout this past year, I have been getting certified in the modality that closest represents what I do with clients with Movement Medicine & Hands-On Healing
That modality?
Manual Osteopathy
For me, it all started with the therapeutic Movement Modality created by World Renowned French Osteopath Guy Voyer DO
The ELDOA™ Method.
Powerful spinal manipulations using the fascia and connective tissue of the body to precisely create space at specific vertebral segments, and joints
That one achieves by holding very specific postures for a minute.
(Trust me, it sounds easier than it is)
The modality changed me from the inside out.
Strengthening what was once a weak core
Correcting the slouched posture until confidence arose

The ELDOA™ Method is where my love for Osteopathy began
And for many many years, I have seen incredible results with it.
From clients healing their chronic back pain & taking healing into their own hands
To women getting pregnant
(I believe this is because of the stress released through the ELDOA™ postures)
I’ve had my client’s chiropractors, physiotherapists and nurses all rave about the changes they see in my clients’ Body after a few sessions of ELDOA™
So I knew it was working.
And yet, there was a gap.
As wonderful as ELDOA™ is, it is still unpopular.
No one knows what it is and how it's different from Pilates or Yoga.
And on top of that, I found myself unable to help particular clients because my training had only taken me so far.
As a seasoned client of Manual Osteopathy, I found myself sending person after person to see their local manual osteopath
Until one day, I looked in the mirror and said
Why don’t I just become the person they’re looking for?
Why not upgrade my skills?
That realization showed me that reinvention lives in answering the call to be more fully myself.
To trust the BodyMindBeing as they expand and guide me in service.
And so started my journey into understanding & working with the BodyMindBeing in an even more holistic, integrated way
Starting with the Physical Body.
The philosophy behind Osteopathy is that we believe that the Body has the capacity (and that it is the actual function of the body) to heal & repair itself
Rooted in Indigenous Practices, Manual Osteopathy is a hands-on practice which uses precise touch to manipulate the joints, influence the viscera, and untangle the fascia resulting in the body being closer to alignment
(where it has the capacity to quickly heal itself)
The idea of the body healing itself is not new, nor is it rare.
If you’ve ever had a paper cut which bled
And then scabbed over
And eventually new skin replaced the scab
Then you’ve experienced first hand the body’s healing function.
As a holistic approach, Manual Osteopathy views the body as a whole.
Meaning the client’s posture, organ function, nervous system, stress level, mental and emotional states
Are all considered as part of the equation to resolving chronic pain, system imbalances, and more.
A typical session will include a thorough taking of your personal health history, this is where you will share as much detail as you feel comfortable sharing.
Often, during the session, as the body begins unravelling, the client will remember falls, accidents, and experiences.
On my table, they may also remember or re-experience buried emotions.
This is because my approach is more somatic or embodied.
It is also because as an Intuitive Being, I can feel subtle energies, memories or emotions
And that can bring those very things up to the surface where my client can process and choose to let go of them.
Typically, the history taking will be followed by a gait and postural assessment.
Yes, your manual osteopath wants to see how your body naturally walks, moves and stands.
Remember, it's all important.
Sometimes a simple release at the bottom of the foot can relieve years of hip pain!
After the gait and postural assessment, we’ll confirm our suspicions with some specific movements
(aka orthopedic tests, for those fellow nerds who like to know what everything is called)
And after all that, the treatment will begin.
The hands on treatment will work with your body to create space where there is compression
And strength where there is weakness.
We will mobilize stiff joints with gentle manipulations
We will stretch the muscles and tissues
And engage muscles that have been sleeping too long.
Unless we’re doing cranial or visceral osteopathy

In which case, you’ll probably fall asleep
In deep relaxation
As we gently coax the unravelling of deep inner fascia, bones, and structures.
The results are truly incredible.
A body in alignment heals quickly, is youthful and more vibrant.
So you can imagine the shifts clients experience after a manual osteopathy session!!
And because every bodyworker, including Manual Osteopaths want you to keep the results for a long time
We will share simple stretches or exercises for you to do between appointments.
The wonderful thing about Manual Osteopathy is that it is gentle
We move with your body, rather than snapping it back into place
We gently coax the natural unravelling
Listening and going only as far as the body allows in that session.
As a Spiritual & Somatic Movement Mentor who has been building on the way the ELDOA™ Method is utilized for healing
(beyond Guy’s intentions to heal back pain)
Getting certified as a Manual Osteopath was a natural progression.
I am thrilled to be able to provide this modality to the community!
This is what I mean when I say, never stop reinventing yourself.
Instead of fake it til you make it
Meet yourself again,
To allow the body, mind, and spirit to unfold in ways that expand your capacity to heal, feel, and show up.
Cheers to a reinvention of Self and Service
Let the adventures begin.
Loving You infinitely,
Sharmeen
